Annual General Meeting 2018


Please join us for Field Hockey Ontario’s (FHO) Annual General Meeting (AGM) of members on Sunday December 2, 2018 at 1:00pm EST. The AGM will be held at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre 5500 Rose Cherry PL E in Meeting Room (B+C), Mississauga. 


Please note, you must be a registered member of FHO by November 3, 2018 11:59pm EST to attend and to vote at the AGM. Please see the FHO By-laws for detailed information on the voting process starting at section 3.14. You can the find proxy form here.

Open Board Positions 2018


FHO is accepting applications for vacant FHO board positions. We are seeking diverse candidates from across Ontario – both men and women, for the Field Hockey Ontario Board of Directors.


The vacant positions include:

  • President (2 year term)

  • Treasurer (1 year term)

  • Five Members-at-Large (2 year terms)

Please note that 3 of the 5 previous board members are likely to rerun for Members-at-Large positions.




FHO is a not-for-profit, volunteer run organization. It is the provincial sport organization that leads, grows, and promotes field hockey and indoor hockey in Ontario by engaging Clubs, developing qualified coaches and officials, and supporting athletes at all development stages.



  • Individuals/ Candidates/ Applicants with interest/passion for growing participation opportunities for athletes in field hockey across Ontario

  • Sport and/or physical activity expertise and systems knowledge is an asset

  • Government Relations and/or Sport or Multisport Service Organization experience

  • Skills that would assist FHO governance (i.e., accounting, law background etc.)



  • Bilingual (French – English) would be an asset, but not required.

  • Looking for geographical representation across Ontario.



  • Board terms are for 2 year terms unless otherwise noted.

  • Meetings are held monthly (we are working towards a bi-monthly meeting schedule) including at least two face to face meetings/ year and the rest held by conference call.

  • Directors sit on operational committees that have a variable amount of time involved dependent on FHO calendar of events.

  • Must be available to attend the first meeting of the new board, December 4, 2018 by teleconference.



  • Work together to fulfill FHO’s vision, mission, values, and strategic direction.

  • Approve policies and procedures to deliver the programs and services of the FHO.

  • Provide continuity for FHO by overseeing its financial health as a not for profit organization.

  • Ensure positive relationships with its membership and stakeholders.

  • Perform any other duties from time to time as may be in the best interests of FHO.
