Giving Tuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday. As the opening day of the giving season, Giving Tuesday is a time when communities, charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday, the giving community comes together for Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; it provides a platform for them to encourage the donation of time, resources and talents to address local challenges. Additionally, Giving Tuesday brings together the collective power of a unique blend of partners – nonprofits, civic organizations, businesses and corporations, as well as families and individuals - to encourage and amplify small acts of kindness. Across Canada and around the world, GivingTuesday unites communities by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another.

Since today is Giving Tuesday, we hope that you will consider donating to Field Hockey Ontario's Enabling Fund! 100% of the funds raised through Field Hockey Ontario’s Enabling Fund will be directed towards lifting the financial limitations of young athletes without the financial means to play the sport of field hockey. A donation to FHO's Enabling Fund supports:

  • The development of empowered women and girls, and aids in the fight for gender equity
  • Inclusion and diversity within sport by enabling people without means to participate
  • Participation in sport – an important part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle
  • The lifelong bonds that the sport of field hockey helps to solidify and create
