Field Hockey Ontario is pleased to welcome Connor Lawrence to the FHO Community! Connor is joining the FHO Staff Team as our Officials Administrator & Program Coordinator through the support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Community Building Fund. The Community Building Fund supports operating facilities and delivering programs for Ontarians by hiring new staff, such as Connor.

As the Officials Administrator & Program Coordinator, Connor's primary responsibilities are as follows:

  • Oversee the Game Plan database
  • Collate database of umpires and ensure records are updated/maintained, to include evaluations
  • Coordinate workshops, programmes and events for umpires and umpire assessors
  • Work with the Umpire Manager to administer official appointments for the OUA, OFSAA, Ontario Games, May Meltdown and other FHO sanctioned events
  • Send communications as required through e-mail, website, social media, meetings and forums

In 2020, Connor graduated from Brock University, earning a Bachelor of Sport Management degree. In the past, Connor has held positions with the Toronto Blue Jays as a member of their Activation Team. Additionally, he has worked with the Welland Jackfish as a Sport Management Assistant in the summer of 2021. Just recently, he joined the Niagara IceDogs as a Social Media Intern for the 2021/2022 OHL season.

Not only has Connor played hockey his entire life, but he has player soccer, baseball, football and lacrosse as well. While hockey is his favourite sport, he loves playing and following all kinds of sports. When Connor is not working, he enjoys hanging out with his friends, going to hockey games and being active.

Please join us in welcoming Connor to the FHO Community!
