Field Hockey Ontario is happy to welcome Jackie Pinheiro and Jalal Kamadia to the FHO Community! Jackie and Jalal are joining the FHO Staff Team as Interns for the Fall/Winter Semester.

JACKIE PINHEIRO - COMMUNITY RELATIONS INTERN

Jackie is joining the FHO Staff Team as our Community Relations Intern! As the Community Relations Intern, Jackie assists with a variety of programs and events, including the execution of various youth programs, community initiatives and school programming.

Following high school, Jackie attended George Brown College for Fitness and Health Promotion, where she realized her passion for sports. Now she is going into her third year at Humber College for Sport Management.

For over 5 years, Jackie has worked around and with sport–wishing she started sooner! In addition to over 10 years of customer service experience, Jackie has over 3 years in administrative experience in a clinic environment and in health and wellness. Along with bringing her experience and skills from helping run a not-for-profit summer camp in Toronto, Jackie hopes to transfer these skills to her position at FHO.

Growing up, Jackie wasn't super athletic. While she was always outside playing activities and games, she was never playing a sport. She didn't start playing sports until high school, which is where her love of sport began. All throughout high school Jackie played volleyball, basketball and ultimate frisbee, and continues to play to this day.

You will always catch Jackie at the beach playing volleyball–either playing until there is snow on the ground or it is less than 10 degrees outside! Besides her love for sports, Jackie likes to spend her time at the dog park with her two fur babies and hanging out with family and friends.

JALAL KAMADIA - EVENT OPERATIONS INTERN

Jalal is joining the FHO Staff Team as our Event Operations Intern! As the Event Operations Intern, Jalal assists with the planning, scheduling and execution of events, as well as communication with venues, FHO members and stakeholders.

Just recently, Jalal completed his third year at Humber College in the Sport Management program. Not only did he have the opportunity to learn about multiple business aspects of sport, but all sorts of different processes that go on behind the scenes.

Jalal's professional background includes experience in an Event Operations role for a grassroots kids soccer camp, volunteering for Deloitte Canada and working as a Merchant Assistant for the Levi’s headquarters office.

Growing up, Jalal mostly played ice hockey, baseball and soccer. As he grew older, he expanded out and started to really enjoy tennis, volleyball and golf!

As a fairly social guy, Jalal loves to go out and spend time with his friends and family. When he is not doing that, he loves to watch sports, go out for walks and play video games!

Please join us in welcoming Jackie and Jalal to the FHO Community!
