Version 3 of FHO's Return-to-Train Guidelines includes updated information regarding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, as well as current public health recommendations and provincial regulations that all sport organizations, including our member clubs, and field hockey participants must follow. Version 3 updates are aimed to help align FHO’s Return-to-Train Guidelines with the Government of Ontario’s colour-coded COVID-19 Response Framework that the province of Ontario is currently using. Different regions are in different levels/colours, and region statuses can change quickly in the event of concerning public health trends, due to the “emergency brake” that allows the provincial government and chief medical officer to move a region into lockdown. It is important to remember that this does not mean a return to “normal” field hockey, as there are still restrictions in place that apply to sporting contexts, and restrictions can change based on a region’s status/colour.  It is important to note that all clubs currently operating must have a COVID Safety Plan in place, and may be asked to share this plan with public health authorities/inspectors.
