Field Hockey Ontario is excited to announce that Shauna Bookal has been selected to fill the role of Executive Director. Over the past two months, FHO has undertaken an extensive application and interview process, working to remain transparent and fair to the FHO community. The hiring committee received over 100 applications, and after narrowing it down to their top 10 candidates, 3 were selected to be interviewed last week.

Bookal has been a member of the FHO team since April of 2019 and stepped into the role of Interim Executive Director in September of 2019. In her time on staff, Bookal has provided a new perspective to the organization, working to use her array of volunteer and professional experiences to guide FHO as we work to fulfill our mission. To date, Bookal has received a number of certifications and accolades that demonstrate her capabilities and dedication to her community. Most recently, she has received the Governor General’s Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers, as well as being inducted into the Toronto Sport Hall of Honour as a Community Sport Volunteer. Her commitment to giving back to the community and empowering those she works with are just some of the qualities that make Bookal a strong fit for this role with FHO.
