Field Hockey Ontario is pleased to announce Bri Gare of Mavericks Field Hockey Club as the Field Hockey Sign Carrier for the Opening Ceremonies at Orillia 2020 Ontario Winter Games taking place February 27th to March 1st. Bri will lead the rest of the Field Hockey participants into the Opening Ceremonies taking place at Centennial Park in Orillia on February 27th at 6:30 PM.

The Ontario Winter Games committee has also selected Bri to represent over 3,000 Ontario Winter Games athletes by reading the Athlete Oath at the Opening Ceremonies.

Bri is an athlete coming from Strathroy, who started her field hockey journey playing with the London Field Hockey Club and the Strathroy District Catholic Institute (SDCI Saints). She has gone on to play with the Waterloo Women’s FH Club and participate in the provincial program. Bri credits her coach Ray Lewis from AOS Goderich, which has had a large impact on her game. She stated that Ray “has been nothing but supportive and has taught me more than anything to do it for the love of the sport”.

Bri looks forward to meeting the other athletes participating in the Ontario Winter Games and represent Field Hockey Ontario and the rest of the athletes at the Opening Ceremonies.

Congratulations Bri!
