2020 marks the 35th anniversary of Field Hockey Ontario! To celebrate this milestone, we want to recognize the clubs, athletes, coaches, and officials that have helped us get to where we are today.

The first club we would like to introduce our community to is the Lions Field Hockey Club! Located in Brampton, this club runs programming throughout the Greater Toronto Area, and has been around for over 40 years. The Lions offer both grassroots and high performance programming, working to continuously build athletes from the early stages of their development through to seeing them perform on international pitches.

With a strong focus on male participation, the Lions have produced a number of national outdoor and indoor team athletes, as well as Olympians! Some of their notable alumni include:

  • 3 Indoor Pan American Championships
  • Senior Indoor and Outdoor Canadian National Team athlete
• Jeewanjot Bath
  • Most capped indoor player in Canadian history with 68 caps
  • 5 Pan American Championships
  • 4 Indoor World Cups
  • Outdoor Pan American Cup
  • Senior Indoor and Outdoor Canadian National Team athlete
